Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 8, 2026

Rivet (“Rivet,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a voice-first back office for independent trades businesses at therivetapp.com (the “Site”) and related early-access services (collectively, the “Service”). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to the practices described below.

Information we collect

Information you provide. When you fill out a form on our Site — for example, to book a demo or request early access — we collect what you submit, which may include your name, business email address, phone number, company name, and trade (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, electrical, garage doors, appliance repair, landscaping). We require at least an email address or a phone number so we can follow up with you.

Information collected automatically. With your consent, we use privacy-friendly product analytics to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, pages viewed, general device/browser type, approximate non-precise location, referring site, and campaign (UTM) parameters. We also store a randomly generated identifier in your browser to distinguish anonymous visits; it isn't tied to your real identity unless you submit a form. We do not load analytics until you accept our cookie banner.

How we use your information

We use the information we collect to respond to demo and early-access requests, operate and improve the Site and Service, understand aggregate usage patterns, send information you've requested about Rivet, detect and prevent spam or abuse (including via a hidden honeypot field on our forms), and comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal information.

Cookies, analytics, and consent

We show a cookie banner the first time you visit. If you accept, we load a privacy-friendly analytics tool that stores a small identifier in your browser to distinguish anonymous visitors and measure product usage. If you decline, no analytics scripts load and no analytics identifiers are set. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this Site's data in your browser, which will show the banner again. We separately use local/session storage that's strictly necessary to run the Site — such as remembering your cookie choice — regardless of your analytics decision.

Data retention

We retain form submissions for as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your inquiry and operate our business, or until you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is retained in aggregate or pseudonymous form for a limited period to support product improvement.

Emails we send

When you submit a form, we send a confirmation email acknowledging your request. If you asked about a demo and haven't booked or signed up, we may send up to three follow-up emails over the next couple of weeks about how Rivet works; after that, we stop. If you create an account, we send a welcome email. If you subscribe on the blog, we email you new posts — nothing else. Every non-essential email carries an unsubscribe link and the header your mail app uses for its own unsubscribe button. The header route takes effect immediately; the link opens a page with a single confirm button, because spam filters and link previewers open every URL in a message and we don't want them opting you out by accident. Once you unsubscribe, either way, we don't email you again. If you book a demo time through our scheduling provider, they send the calendar invitation and reminders for that booking.

How we share information

We share information with a small number of service providers who process it on our behalf: our hosting and database provider (to store form submissions), our analytics provider (only if you consent), our email delivery provider (to notify our team when a new lead comes in and to send you the emails described above), and — if you choose to book a demo time — our scheduling provider (to manage the booking). We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

Your choices

You can decline analytics cookies at any time via the consent banner, ask us to review, correct, or delete information you've submitted, and unsubscribe from any follow-up communications.

Children's privacy

The Site is intended for business owners and professionals. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll update the “Last updated” date above when we do.
