About Rivet

You ran the trade all day. The office shouldn't take your night.

Every solo operator we talk to describes the same pattern: the real work ends at five, and then a second job starts at the kitchen table — a couple of hours of returning calls, sending invoices, and juggling the schedule. Rivet exists to take that two-hour admin tax off your evenings without taking control out of your hands.

What is Rivet?

Rivet is a voice-first AI back office for 1–5 person trades shops — HVAC, plumbing, and electrical, with more trades expanding. The owner speaks; Rivet turns it into a typed proposal — a booking, an invoice, a reply. The owner approves, and only then does it happen. Nothing ever sends without the owner's yes.

That one loop — speak, review, approve — is the whole product. You talk to Rivet the way you'd talk to a sharp office manager, and it hands you back typed, checkable work instead of another form to fill in. A second supervisor AI reviews every proposal before you see it, every action lands in an audit trail, and one tap undoes a mistake. QuickBooks is the one integration we support today.

Why is Rivet voice-first?

Because a contractor's hands are busy and the phone is the business. You can't type an invoice from a crawlspace or an attic, but you can say one sentence. Rivet takes the spoken sentence — the input a tradesperson actually has available — and turns it into typed work you can read and approve.

Most field software assumes a desk, two free hands, and twenty quiet minutes. That's exactly what a working tradesperson never has. Thursday, 4:50pm — three calls come in while you're in a crawlspace — is the normal case, not the edge case. So the interface has to be the one tool that's always with you and works with dirty hands: your voice.

Voice is only the input, though. The output is always typed — a proposal card showing exactly what Rivet wants to do, with the customer, the time, and the amount spelled out. You never approve something you can't read.

Why does nothing send without approval?

Because a one-person shop can't afford software that acts on its own. One wrong text or wrong invoice costs real money and a real relationship. So approval is Rivet's architecture, not a setting: every action is a proposal, a second AI checks it, you approve it, an audit trail records it, and one tap undoes it.

This is the trust thesis behind everything we build. AI that acts unsupervised is a liability for a small shop; AI that drafts the work and waits for your yes is leverage. We wrote up the whole mechanism — the supervisor model, the audit trail, undo, and what we don't claim yet — on the security & trust page.

Where is Rivet today?

Rivet is in early access. We're a small team building it in close, daily collaboration with working contractors — the people actually in trucks and crawlspaces. We'd rather show you the product than inflate claims about it, so you won't find a logo wall, invented customer counts, or manufactured testimonials here.

Early access means two concrete things. First, you get the product now, at a flat monthly price — no per-truck pricing — with the exact number given on a call. Second, you get a direct line to the people building it: what early users run into each week is what we fix and ship next.

A lot of the operators we work with are in their first year on their own, which is why we maintain a free guide to going independent alongside the product. If you have questions we haven't answered, the FAQ is the fastest place to look — or email us directly at hello@therivetapp.com. A human on the team reads every message.

Common questions

Is Rivet a real product I can use today?

Yes. Rivet is in early access, which means the product works today and you can start a free trial, but we're still building alongside our first users and we say so plainly rather than pretending to be further along.

Which trades does Rivet support?

Rivet is built for 1–5 person HVAC, plumbing, and electrical shops, and we're expanding to more trades. If your trade isn't listed, email hello@therivetapp.com and tell us — early users shape the order we build in.

Does Rivet integrate with my accounting software?

Rivet integrates with QuickBooks. That is currently the only integration — we'd rather do one accounting connection properly than list ten shallow ones.

How much does Rivet cost?

A flat monthly price with no per-truck pricing. We give you the exact number on a call, because during early access we set it with you directly rather than publishing a rate card that changes.

How do I contact the Rivet team?

Email hello@therivetapp.com, or book time for a live walkthrough at therivetapp.com/demo. Either way you reach someone who works on the product.
